He then named that place Dominus videt, that is, "God sees", and it is still said thus, In monte Dominus videbit, that is, "On the mountain, God will see." Again the angel called to Abraham and said, "I swear by myself, says the almighty one, now that you would not spare your only-born son, but fear of me was greater [i.e. more important] to you than his life, I will bless you and multiply your offspring like the stars in the heavens and like the grains of sand in [perhaps "by"] the sea. Your offspring will have possession of the gates of their enemies, and in your seed all nations are blessed because you thus obeyed my command."
Abraham then immediately turned back to his servants and they thus went home with a heavenly blessing.
